Waxing
A popular method of removing unwanted hair is by using warm wax.
I use the PHD Wax system which is a clean, hygienic and effective system of getting rid of unwanted hair. A disposable applicator is opened in your presence and disposed of after the treatment is complete, eliminating the worry of possible cross contamination between clients. The advantages of waxing are as follows:
- Re-growth can take up to six weeks to grow back.
- The application and removal is very quick.
- The lower temperature with warm wax makes it suitable for more sensitive skins.
After cleansing the area to be waxed a warm honey or cream wax is applied which is then followed by hair removal. I then apply a soothing lotion to help calm the skin. The aim is to make it as painless as possible. If it is your first time to waxing, I recommend you take a couple of painkillers an hour before your treatment.
Waxing will not be carried out if:
- If on Roaccutane or Accutane you will need to wait 3 months before carrying out any waxing treatments
- You are on your monthly cycle,
- You have varicose veins,
- Broken Skin,
- Bruising,
- Recent scar tissue,
- After exposure to UV rays,
- Any disease of the skin.

Home care Advice
- Do exfoliate at least 2 times a week between treatments to prevent ingrown hairs.
- It is not advisable to swim, or go into a sauna 24 hours after treatment.
- Do not use any perfumed body lotions.
- Do bathe or shower in lukewarm water.
